There are over 20 Walt Disney World Resort, each offering something different and unique. Once you have had a look at the amazing Benefits all Walt Disney World Resort guests receive, you will probably want to know more about each Resort in order to help decide which one is best for your travel party.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are broken down into a number of categories; Value, Moderate, Deluxe & Deluxe Villa Resorts. Each category of hotel offers something different from the others, and also comes with its own rough price band. Breaking the Resorts into these categories is very useful when trying to decide upon which Hotel you want to stay at; you can first decide upon a category and then look into and compare those hotels, instead of having to research them all.
Walt Disney World’s ‘budget’ hotel category, these resorts are the least expensive rooms on Disney World Property. They generally tend to be a bit further removed from the action (you won’t get a view of the castle from these rooms), but they all come with large, themed pools and big food courts. You can also expect to find kids playgrounds, an arcade, in-room pizza delivery, and that legendary Disney Service. All Value Resorts offer the standard complimentary bus transportation to all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and free WIFI.
Rooms in these Resorts will also be a little more basic than what you would find in a Deluxe Resort, for example. However, you can still expect the standard amenities of a TV, safe, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Standard rooms in Value Resorts will sleep up to 4, plus one infant under 3 in a travel cot and are fitted with 2 queen beds. At some value resorts, Family Suites are also available, sleeping up to 6 guests with separate sleeping areas. Value Resorts are listed below;
Value Resorts are not for those looking for a concierge service, valet parking, spas or fitness centres, but they offer brilliant value for money whilst still letting you enjoy all the benefits of being a Walt Disney World Resort guest. It is also worth noting that when looking at Free Dining Offers, you will typically not be offered a Free Dining Plan for a Value Resort booking; you may be offered Free Breakfast, but not a full plan.
Going up a price brand from the Value Resorts are Disney’s Moderate Resorts. Offering more amenities, better equipped rooms and more refined theming, these Resorts are the best blend of value and comfort. You’ll generally find a number of pools at these Resorts (one large, main pool and some smaller ‘quiet’ pools), and there will still be Quick Service Food Court, but here you’ll also find a Table Service Restaurant on offer as well. On top of the standard amenities found at Value Resorts, extra amenities will include things like bike & watercraft rentals, volleyball courts, fishing excursions and lounges. Selected Moderate Resorts may offer boat transportation to Theme Parks or Downtown Disney as well as the standard Bus transportation network.
You’ll find more amenities in your room also, with a mini-fridge and coffee maker being found as standard in Moderate Resorts. Rooms here are also a little larger, sleeping up to 5 guests plus one infant under 3 in a travel cot.These rooms generally are quipped with 2 queen beds and one pulled-down sleeper bed. Selected Resorts also offer suites which will accommodate up to 6 guests, and all Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort sleep 6; perfect for larger families. At certain Moderate Resorts, you can also upgrade to specially themed rooms, perfect for your little Pirates or Princesses if you are looking for something a little different. Walt Disney World’s Moderate Resorts include;
It is worth noting there will be a larger difference between amenities offered at Moderate Resorts than at Value Resorts; if you are looking into staying at a Moderate Resort, it is important to compare them to understand what you will be offered at each Resort.
Disney’s World’s top Resorts, Deluxe Resorts offer a wealth of amenities, superb locations and plenty of shopping and dining experiences. Deluxe Resorts will offer a number of Restaurants, and typically one Signature Dining Experience, as well as offering a lounge, and luxurious little extras such as Valet Parking,Club Level, Concierge Services and in-room dining. You can also expect to find a massage & fitness centre, large themed pools, and a wealth of recreation options, including all those found at Moderate Resorts. You can still expect complimentary bus transportation to and from the theme parks, but many Deluxe Resorts are so close to the action, water taxis, monorail, or even a simple footpath (yes, you could be that close!).
Standard rooms in Deluxe Resorts will sleep up to 5 guests in 2 queen beds & 1 sleeper bed. However, these Resorts offer a larger range of rooms and suites, sleeping as little as 2 or as many as 10 guests. You are also offered the options of paying to upgrade to a room with a view; depending on your location, this could be of the Animals, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks, or a Lagoon or Water view. Rooms here are equipped with all the amenities you would find in Value & Deluxe Resorts, but the complimentary toiletries are of higher quality and the rooms are decorated to a higher standard. You’re also likely to have a balcony, something not offered in Value or Moderate Resorts. Walt Disney Worlds Deluxe Resorts include;
As with the Moderate Resorts, amenities and recreational activities on offer will vary from Resort or Resort, so make sure to compare Deluxe Resorts to figure out which offers the best selection for your party.
Walt Disney World also offer a range of Villa Resorts, allowing more of the comforts of home and allowing larger groups the option of all being under one roof. Many of these Resorts are partnered with a Deluxe Resort and therefore have access to all amenities and recreation activities etc…on offer at their sister Resort. Within the lobby of the Deluxe Villa Resort itself, you’ll find a shop which is better stocked with general foodstuffs in order to make the best use of kitchen or kitchenette facilities on offer in you room.
Deluxe Villa Resorts offer a number of different Villas, the smallest being Studio Rooms; these are basically the same as a Room you would find in a Deluxe Resort except they also come equipped with a small kitchenette. There are also 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas, where you can find a fully equipped kitchen and living area and at least one full bathroom. In-room laundry facilities are also provided in the full Villas, perfect for parties who wish to travel light! You can find Villas at the following Resorts;
It is worth noting that the Deluxe Villas Resorts primarily cater for member of the Disney Vacation Club and as such availability for these Resorts, or certain villas in these Resorts will differ from availability in the Disney Resort Hotels. This is due to DVC members being given first option on rooms in these Resorts.
