Each time we return to Walt Disney World, I like to try something new; part of the fun of our Disney holidays is being able to enjoy these new experiences each time we go. That way, it never feels like we are repeating the same holiday. With so many changes happening to Walt Disney World currently, it certainly isn’t difficult to find these new experiences either!
For our next trip in 2016, there is so much going on that there are plenty of new Disney experiences to choose from. However, there are a number that I am particularly excited about; these are things that have made me do extra research online, or made me check other blogs or media outlets for updates on more regularly. I am so excited about getting to try these new (to me!) experiences that I wanted to share them!
We’ve been to Florida twice throughout the construction and transformation of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs and this inside peak during this time has made me very excited to see the newly finished end product. While our trip is at the beginning of the year and Disney Springs may not be fully completed, I am still excited to see the new shops and try some of the new restaurants. I had always loved visiting Downtown Disney during our holidays, and I know this project to expand and re-theme is bound to only make Disney Springs even better than its predecessor.
Star Wars Launch Bay & Season of the Force
Very little information has been real eased about this first addition of Star Wars Land to Hollywood Studios, but it looks set to be opened but the end of 2015. With a 4 year old boy starting to find a lot of interest in all things Star Wars, I am very excited to take him to try out this new themed area. Similarly, I can’t wait to hear more details about the new Star Wars weekends beginning in January as hopefully we’ll be able to experience one of them too. I’ve heard great things about the Star Wars Weekends in past so can imagine that these new ones are really something to look forward to.
Victoria & Alberts
This year, my husband and I have saved up some cash and are taking advantage of having grandparents-come-babysitters with us to do a very special night out. We are finally getting a chance to try the AAA 5 Diamond Award winning restaurant in the Grand Floridian; Victoria & Alberts. While not to everyones taste, I am so excited to try this fine dining restaurant and experience some exquisite plates of food. What’s even better however, is that we managed to get a booking for the coveted Chefs Table, giving us a truly memorable meal experience. This restaurant has been on my Disney Bucket List for quite a while now and Im so pleased to have the chance to visit it!
Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party
Another of my Bucket List dreams-come-true, we have also splurged a little to attend the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party. Special seating on the Tomorrowland Terrace with a full dessert and drinks buffet while watching Wishes is going to make for an incredible end to a day in Magic Kingdom. It will be exciting to try all the different desserts on offer, and also to know that for at least one evening we can relax and enjoy Wishes from a reserved area instead of jostling for a spot in the middle of the crowds. We have also booked this for my birthday evening and I really can’t think of a better way to end my birthday!
Hollywood Studios without the Hat
A controversial topic for many, Disney removed the famous Sorcerers Hat from Hollywood Studios last January. I have only ever seen Hollywood Studios (or MGM Studios as it was then called) sans-hat in 2000, and all the rest of my memories of the park come with the large blue hat firmly centre stage. I must admit, I did feel quite sad last November leaving Hollywood Studios and knowing that this was last time I would see the famous icon. However, I now feel some excitement to return and see how the park looks now without the hat again. To me, this removal is the beginning of a lot of change at Hollywood Studios and I am excited to watch this change progress over the coming years.
The best part about a holiday to Walt Disney World is that no matter how many times return, I can always find something new to try and become excited about. Change here is constant; sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse, but you can always be guaranteed that each return trip will bring so many new things to experience that the excitement of a Disney trip will never fade.
